The Adelaide Rock ‘n’ Roll club has operated a website for many years, primarily to post details about upcoming events and membership information. The existing content management system was very basic, and although it worked appropriately for many years, it was very limited in it’s ability to manage documents and create new pages. The design was perhaps a little tired and of need of a redesign.
To upgrade the site, we decided to implement WordPress as the content management system as its administration is easy to use and because it is highly suitable for managing regularly changing content. The platform could also be extended with plugins to manage aspects such as their event calendar. The focus for the upgrade was ensuring that the site was very easy to navigate and all content was clear and highly readable.
With the new website, the president of the club is able to easily modify the site’s content and add detailed news and events information. The appearance of the site has been refreshed and brightened up. To make better use of space, a right hand column has been added to display recent news and upcoming events; these summaries are automatically displayed.
